How much does a new floor cost?
Honestly, it varies. Carpet for a single bedroom can be from a few hundred pounds; a hallway, lounge and stairs in mid-range engineered wood is usually a few thousand. We always quote upfront after seeing the room — no obligation, no pressure, and what we quote is what you pay.
How long does fitting take?
Most single rooms are done in a day. A typical full-house carpet job is one to two days. Engineered wood and herringbone parquet can be longer — three to five days for a whole ground floor — because of the prep, acclimatisation and the laying time itself. We give you a realistic timeline at the quote stage.
Do you take up the old flooring?
Yes — takeup, disposal and full floor preparation are included as standard on every quote. You don’t need to lift a finger. We’ll also help shift heavier furniture if needed.
Can I have it over underfloor heating?
Engineered wood, LVT and most modern laminates are compatible with underfloor heating — that’s where engineered wood really earns its keep over solid wood (which can warp). We’ll talk you through which materials suit your specific UFH system at the home visit.
How far in advance should I book?
Two to four weeks is typical from quote to fitting day. We can sometimes turn around faster if there’s a cancellation. Summer and pre-Christmas tend to be busiest, so book early if you’ve got a deadline.
Where do you supply your materials from?
UK suppliers and respected manufacturers — Cormar, Cavalier, Karndean, Quick-Step and similar. We choose by quality and warranty, not just price.
